ANNOUNCING A REIMAGINED EUPHORIA FOR 2018
For the past few months, we’ve found ourselves reflecting on Euphoria’s core values. How can we, as an independent festival, remain true to our mission among the changing festival landscape?
For us, it keeps coming back to community. Over the past six years, the family surrounding Euphoria has grown tremendously, and we are so thankful for each and every one of you who has supported us along the way. We wouldn't be here without fans and partners like you.
Euphoria started with a small group of individuals, not unlike yourself, with a dream to create a place of inclusion, community and wonder. Moments like laughing with friends (who were nothing more than strangers just minutes before) make up our driving purpose as a small, startup festival team.
This year we have imagined an expansion of our community and changes to the traditional festival format. Our vision for Euphoria remains unwavering, and we see these changes as an opportunity to reconnect with the values and vibes that made it all possible to begin with.
What if instead of just one time a year, we could create a sustainable year-round community based around curiosity, creativity and of course, great music? We want to embrace this chance to create something new, yet familiar to our fans.
In light of this, we’ve been working hard on a new scaled-back concept for 2018. We call it Finding Euphoria, a series of music and community events surrounding a more intimate festival:
Finding Euphoria 2018 Festival: May 12
In 2018 we are presenting Finding Euphoria festival, a one-day, intentional scaling back of our programming, offering a more intimate experience to our fans. Finding Euphoria is a place to reconnect, experience great music and meet us back at our home, on The Ranch.
Car camping will be offered for those who wish to extend the Finding Euphoria experience — but in very limited capacity capped at 2,000 attendees — leaving you with room to spread out and explore the grounds.
Finding Euphoria Series Pass
With a mission to connect with our local community here in Austin, the new Finding Euphoria Series is a journey throughout the year to bring the most inspiring elements of the festival to more intimate environments. These events will include music shows in downtown Austin featuring our artists, as well as community events focusing on sustainability, wellness and the outdoors.
The Finding Euphoria Series Pass is a complete package that not only includes admission to all of our music and community events, but also VIP and Camping access to Finding Euphoria festival. While supplies last, pass buyers will also receive a complimentary Euphoria T-shirt. A limited number of Series Passes are now available, and tickets for individual events will be available at a later date.
Along this adventure, we invite you to embrace the chance to participate and help us create something new as we evolve with the ever-changing festival landscape.
Thank you for being with us on this journey — we are humbled by and so grateful for every one of you who makes up Euphoria.
-The Euphoria Team
Why are you doing this?
In past years, Euphoria could only be experienced for a few days a year. By scaling back the festival in 2018, we will be able to shift our resources to create more events throughout the year, and engage with the community.
Do I have to buy the Series Pass to go to the Finding Euphoria Festival?
No, single-day Finding Euphoria tickets will be available soon, as well as a limited number of camping tickets. Finding Euphoria will be similar to the early years of Euphoria, and this event will continue to be the way most people experience Euphoria. The Series Pass is an option for those who want to experience everything — all of the shows we book in Austin, the festival, camping and our community events. More details on the Series Pass are available here.
What are these community events?
We are taking the features that differentiate Euphoria Festival and making them available year round. These events may include yoga, sustainability workshops, speaker and panel events, cookouts and dining, and more, and a preview calendar is currently available.
What will the Finding Euphoria Festival be like?
Held May 12, 2018, Finding Euphoria will be very similar to past years of Euphoria Fest, especially our early years. We’ll be back at our home at Carson Creek Ranch, with fan-favorites like the Dragonfly Amphitheater. Camping will open Friday night, followed by a full-day festival on Saturday with camping Saturday for those who choose to participate.
What will Finding Euphoria camping be like?
About one third as many camping passes are available for Finding Euphoria 2018 as were available for Euphoria 2017. Camping will be a laid-back, primitive gathering, with large open space. Campgrounds will open Friday, May 11, and close the evening of Sunday, May 13. There will be an exclusive pre-party for campers onsite Friday evening. A Car Camping Parking Add-on is available for anyone who would like to park in the campgrounds and camp next to their car.
Finding Euphoria - Have we lost it forever?
No, Finding Euphoria is a different, but familiar, experience and we plan to return to a multi-day Euphoria Music and Camping Festival in 2019. In many ways, we see this event and series as an experimental pilot project for the ways in which events like ours can build community.
